Business cards are a widely used tool for all businesses, but there is also a huge lack of business card ideas available in order to actually help in growing and expanding your business.
What I mean is this… Most business cards contain five main things:
1. Your name
2. Your title
3. Your contact information
4. Your businesses’ website
5. And more often today than ever, your social media information
While Googling or searching for business card ideas or tips, you have in mind that you need all of the above information, which is key for someone contacting you after you part ways. But when you’re at an event or a meeting and you hand someone your business card, do you have something on your card that is going to draw them back to you and make sure they contact you?
If not, make sure to pay attention to these key business card ideas and be sure your business card is making the impact you deserve.
Business Card Ideas Tip #1: Don’t be afraid to create specific business cards for specific purposes
Creating high-quality custom business cards is easy and fairly inexpensive. If you find several business card ideas you like, then use them all for different purposes!
Any local printer (or even your home or office printer) can create all your business card ideas in less than 24 hours.
Think about all of the business card ideas you have gathered in your head. Now think about the reasons “why” you like all these business card ideas and how you can use each card for a specific event or purpose.
For example, a while ago I attended a copywriting seminar and my main goal was to find joint venture partners for promoting my CopyDoodles business. I took just one of my many business card ideas (the mini-brochure card you will find out about below) and printed less than 50 of them with my local printer to hand out at the event.
Because this business card was specific, people I handed it out to knew exactly why they should contact me long after the event had ended and they may have forgotten our conversations.
Business Card Ideas Tip #2: Utilize space by creating a mini brochure card
This is probably the biggest out of all my business card ideas I have ever shared (you can actually also get more business card ideas from my other blog post here –> more business card ideas).
Business cards don’t just have to be your typical 2.5 x 3 inches. Like I stated above, I created a mini-brochure card for the last event I was going to which had several panels where I could include a longer message.
The business card I created for this event was a double-sided, three panel card.
Because of this, I was able to get exactly three business cards worth of content into one simple card!
I don’t recommend you use this business card idea for your main business card, but it worked very well for me in securing JV partnerships and more.
